Purpose of the role:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations to maintain a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for hotel guests and staff. This role includes managing the housekeeping team, ensuring all rooms and public areas meet the hotel's high standards, and coordinating with other departments.

Estimated start date: October/November 2024

Your responsibilities will be: 

• Supervise and manage the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness standards are met or exceeded.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and protocols.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate housekeeping staff to maintain high performance and morale.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linen orders, uniforms, minibar, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Maintain an overview of daily occupancy, arrivals and departures, and key guests in-house.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure standards are maintained.
• Spot-check stayover and vacant rooms to guarantee the highest service standards.
• Oversee the receiving, checking, and delivery of guest laundry with attention to detail.
• Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Record guest history and update the system accordingly.
• Expedite special guest requests such as extra pillows, blankets, towels, or amenities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Ensure that all lost and found items are handled according to company policy.
• Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions and foster good working relationships.

What we expect from you:

• Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role within a boutique or luxury hotel.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and health and safety regulations.
• Customer-oriented approach with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Proficiency in English at a conversational level.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
