Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a charismatic and organised Restaurant Hostess to join our team at our exclusive Cantonese restaurant Shang Shi. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. Your exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude, and organisational overview will contribute to the smooth operation of our establishment and the satisfaction of our clientele.

How you will contribute: 

• Greet guests warmly and provide assistance as needed.
• Manage reservations and coordinate seating to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Communicate wait times and accommodate seating preferences.
• Answer calls, provide reservation details, and explain restaurant policies.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
• Uphold dress code, grooming, and service standards.
• Stay informed about menu offerings, specials, and promotions.
• Assist with administrative tasks like updating reservation logs and supporting events.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service, ideally as a hostess in a high-end restaurant.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Fluency in Estonian and English is essential; any other languages are a bonus.
• Ability to stay calm and positive in fast-paced situations.
• Strong telephone etiquette and clear communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to interact confidently with diverse guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (restaurant hours: Monday-Sunday 12:00-15:00, 18:00-23:00). 
• Proficiency in reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
• Medical Certificate for food operators required.
• Minimum age requirement: 21 years.

The team by your side:

At Shang Shi, you will be working with a team of 10 waiters, 3 floor managers, and 2 hostesses. Restaurant Manager Vladimir Severin will be there to support your onboarding and training.
